What are you eating this Saturday? Going out for brunch? Getting a bacon- egg- and- cheese? Checking out a new trendy restaurant? Think again! Everybody’s going to the “Greenpoint Market” which specializes in bringing LOCAL foods straight to the people of Brooklyn! It’s been running for a while now, but I still haven’t made it over. Check out the items and vendors I’m most excited about!:

It’s fun, it’s free and it’s… upstate?! For all of you who live in Westchester (or even in Fairfield) County who can’t make it to the events we post about going on in BROOKLYN and NYC you should def check out “First Wednesdays” at the Nueberger Museum of Art, located on the SUNY Purchase campus! This Wednesday is the starting event for the monthly event the museum holds for students by students. There’s free fish and chips (my guess would be to corilate their current exhibit on English culture) and lots of fun! Activities include sharing music and a screening of “48- Up,” a film by Michael Apted. The Nueberger also has an AMAZING exhibit currently called “BRITISH SUBJECTS: IDENTITY AND SELF- FASHIONING 1967- 2009” who’s opening reception was attended by CHUCK CLOSE (I got a chance to meet him… awesome!) Check out the flier for Wednesday’s event below:

Keep NYC Art Alive this weekend by attending the NYC Book Art Fair at PS1. The fair holds over 200 publications of independent magazines and books. Here at “We the Free,” we are most excited about PINUP’s stand as well as the Brooklyn- based publications Kingsboro Press and Decathlon.  “Decathalon” is actually a series of artist books that’s actually constructed from our Sales Associate, Chrissy’s favorite professors from PRATT! Check out pics from both the Kigsboro Press and Decathalon publications:
