In the same spirit of the last post, a brand new fashion Co-Op called “Better than Jam” has just opened on Flushing Avenue in the Loom! I just went to check it out this Saturday and the collection is amazing. Each designer there has their own distinct style that is totally recognizable. All the products are designed by NYC designers and made here! Take a look at some of my favorite things that I saw:

Yes, that’s right. Free People was so popular in our little store in Brooklyn that we will be turning over our inventory, and on January 20th officially re- open as a Free People store. While we all loved our little concept on Smith Street, the time is come for change… as we all know. So FP it is.

In the meantime “We the Free BROOKLYN” the blog will also be on a little vacation. So please stay tuned in the future… but for now you’ll have to hear about hot things in Brooklyn via the typical Free Williamsburg or Gawker.

It’s been up for almost a month… and I haven’t seen many posts about it on the internet, but “Who Shot Rock and Roll” now being exhibited at the Brooklyn Museum of Art looks awesome and I know I’m going to go see it. The Museum claims that it’s goal with this exhibit is to “acknowledge the photographer’s creative and collaborative role in history of rock music.” Sounds pretty sweet to me. Check out some photos being shown at the exhibit:

Orianthi at the AMA's in We The FREE!!!!!

Last night at the American Music Awards the rising star Orianthi rocked out in We The Free. She’s the Australian guitarist who’s had the chance to perform with Carrie Underwood and Michael Jackson. And it looks like she’s just warming up. So we were pretty amped (pun intended) when we noticed the blondie in the studded mini skirt. What’s even cooler is how she worked in some crazy leather patches to the skirt and made it her own. Nothing like a little DIY to spice up any outfit. Not that I’m suggesting she sat down at sewing machine and added them herself in between sound checks but I digress…. Did I mention this awesome skirt is on now SALE!!?! OOoohh yeaa! So anywho if you haven’t heard Orianthi’s new song check her out on her Official Website. You’ll be sure to see and hear a lot more of her in the future. And if you’re not totally diggin my girl but are into that sexy skirt, well then that’s cool too.
