In the same spirit of the last post, a brand new fashion Co-Op called “Better than Jam” has just opened on Flushing Avenue in the Loom! I just went to check it out this Saturday and the collection is amazing. Each designer there has their own distinct style that is totally recognizable. All the products are designed by NYC designers and made here! Take a look at some of my favorite things that I saw:

Jason Estrin is one of Brooklyn’s very own comic book illustrators. We love his work! Check out this four- page illustration he posted on his blog a couple of months ago called THE HOUSE OF RESPECTED NAMES.

The colors and images he uses in his illustrations make them different from other comic illustrators. Check out more of Estrin’s work on his blog.

What are you eating this Saturday? Going out for brunch? Getting a bacon- egg- and- cheese? Checking out a new trendy restaurant? Think again! Everybody’s going to the “Greenpoint Market” which specializes in bringing LOCAL foods straight to the people of Brooklyn! It’s been running for a while now, but I still haven’t made it over. Check out the items and vendors I’m most excited about!:

These gnocchi's are made from scratch at home and ready to boil!

These gluten free cookies are by "You Can't Eat Bread?!" (What a great name for a gluten- free line of foods!)

Williamsburg is continuing its own fashion week… end, seperate from the tourist hoopla- of the one in Bryant Park. Late, yes. Late in up- and- coming- fashion! Heck no! Maybe it’s because we like to do things are own way here in Brooklyn, maybe the “end” is because we like to keep it short and sweet, it could be that we like to have the last word or maybe it’s because we’re “fashionably late,” everyone is excited for Williamsburg Fashion Week…end!

Personally, I am excited for Elisha Trimble’s new collection. Her previous one can still be bought at the “Dressing Room” in SoHo, but take a look at New York’s very own innovation below!
